SEC_01 · 01

Parties

These terms are between you (the client, normally a parent or guardian) and Gabriel Matin (trading as Nile Tuition Academy), a sole-trader private tutor based in London, United Kingdom. Booking a session means you have read and accepted them. If enrolling on behalf of someone under 18, you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian.

Services

One-to-one tuition in mathematics, sciences, and 11+ preparation, delivered online or in person. Every enrolment includes a personalised study protocol, revision notes, and monthly progress reports. Sessions are scheduled by mutual agreement. No specific grade outcome is guaranteed - results depend on student effort and many factors outside our control.

Booking

The initial consultation is free and carries no obligation. After it we agree on subjects, frequency, and duration. Lessons are typically booked in blocks of four. A calendar invite and confirmation email are sent for every session.

Fees

  • STANDARD (PER SESSION)£45 per hour
  • SUCCESS ACCELERATOR (10 SESSIONS)£40 per session
  • ELITE PERFORMANCE (20 SESSIONS)£35 per session
  • 11+ / SATS (STANDARD RATE)£35 per hour

Invoices are issued at the start of each block, payable by bank transfer within 7 days. All prices are in pounds sterling and are VAT-exempt - Nile Tuition Academy is not registered for VAT. Rates are fixed for the academic year and reviewed each September with 30 days' notice.

Cancellations

SEC_06 · 06

Refunds

Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have a statutory 14-day right to cancel a prepaid block before the first session begins. Refunds are issued within 10 working days. Once sessions have started, unused lessons can be carried forward.

SEC_07 · 07

Ending the arrangement

Either party may end the arrangement at any time with 14 days' written notice by email. No minimum commitment applies.

SEC_08 · 08

Safeguarding

Students under 18 are the priority. The tutor holds a current Enhanced DBS certificate - the highest level of background check for working with children. For online lessons a parent should be present in the home; for in-person lessons a chaperone should be present.

Any safeguarding concern should be raised immediately:

Session recordings

Online sessions may be recorded only on explicit requestby a parent or guardian, confirmed in writing by email before the session. Recordings are stored on the tutor's encrypted personal device, shared only with the requesting parent via a private link, retained for a maximum of 90 days, and deleted on request. No recording is made without prior written consent.

Communication channels

Where messaging support is offered as part of a session block, the following rules apply:

  • For students under 18, a parent or guardian must be included in any messaging group or thread. No 1:1 messaging with a minor will take place.
  • Messages are retained in line with our Privacy Notice and deleted when no longer operationally necessary.

Service complaints

Service complaints (non-safeguarding) should be emailed to [email protected] within 14 days of the issue. We will respond within 7 working days. If the matter is not resolved, you may escalate to an Alternative Dispute Resolution provider or the small claims court (England and Wales) — we will cooperate with any reasonable process.

Study materials

Notes, question banks, and planners created for a student remain the intellectual property of Nile Tuition Academy and are licensed for that student's personal use only.

SEC_10 · 13

Liability

Nothing here limits statutory rights under UK consumer law, or liability for death, personal injury, or fraud. Beyond that, liability for direct loss is capped at the total value of lessons paid in the previous three months. We are not liable for indirect loss - including a specific exam grade, university offer, or scholarship outcome.

SEC_11 · 14

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Unresolved disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you wish to use an Alternative Dispute Resolution provider before court, you are free to do so - we do not subscribe to a specific scheme but will cooperate with any reasonable process.
